Current Progress on Chewelah Center for the Arts

GETTING READY FOR PHASE 2 - THE NEXT STAGE

Includes new lobby with box office, concession area and patron restrooms, new community meeting space. 


PHASE 1 – completed to date $335,931.25

Open space converted to theater proscenium stage on West wall.
Raise open space floor with insulated concrete floor.
Install studs, insulate and drywall interior walls of exterior rooms.
Convert existing HVAC system to natural gas.
New/remodeled electrical systems with grid for stage lighting
Use donated platforms to create raised stage with wings.
Convert existing exterior rooms to ADA compliant restrooms, washer/dryer
    room, meeting room, kitchen, main/box office, sound and light storage,

     costume prep and storage.
Create green room space behind stage in unheated area. 
Create separate locked area for tool and equipment storage.
Build unheated addition on North side for storage of props, additional platforms, set construction materials and flats.
New roof for main building and exterior rooms.
4” insulation and stucco on main building
Exterior painting and new mural on exterior rooms.
Purchase 150 chairs for theater use

Clean up creek area and west backlot, install chain link fencing.
